Colourpop Single Powder Shadow Review & Swatches
I mentioned that soon Colourpop will be appear again on my blog and here it is: d. This time I have something for every lovers of single eyeshadows, duochromes and this type of precious.
Single eyeshadows from Colourpop was the main reason why I decided to place an order on their official website. As you can get their palettes or lipsticks online of course much more expensive, that the choice of single pressed eyeshadows in Uk is mega limited and it doesn't pay off.
In English online drugstores you have to pay for one eyeshadow around £7 while in the official Colourpop store they cost without promotion $4.50 but I managed to buy them even - 20% cheaper. If you are interested in more singles or other pressed cosmetics then is much more profitable to choose the option to build your own palette that we can adapt to your needs. It costs: $45 for 24 Eyeshadows or Mix Eyeshadow with Cheeks Products (Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter) or $24 for 12 Eyeshadow or 2 Cheeks + 4 Eyeshadows and to both we get a magnetic palette for free. In this way, we are able to save even $63 or $30.

It seems to me that on this way process of choosing colors is also simplified, everything is divided into finishes (matte, metallic, duochrome, glitter) and you don't need to looking for anything. After adding selected shades, we have a preview of how our palette will be looks like, so thanks to that is easier to find out any mistakes, very similar shades, what are lack, the ratio of mattes to other finishes, etc.
The magnetic palette included in the set is a really good quality and a few millimeters wider than the eyeshadows pans, which makes the pans easy to fit and easy to remove.
Mine has a similar design to Whatever, namely rose-animal but I have no idea whether it always looks the same or maybe they also have a other designs.
Eyeshadows I chose were:
Silver Lining - is a dusty purple matte. I love the neutral / cool purple colors, which is why I reach for it very often. Easy to work with, blends well and looks nice on the eyelids. It gives such a feminine, romantic look.
Heiress - is a matte pastel lavender. This shade immediately caught my attention because you can rarely found a similar. For most of us it will not be suitable for everyday life but it is something perfect for fans of color or crazy Instagram looks, personally inspires me a lot. Formula is pleasant at work, neither dry or patchy. I can highly recommend.
Fault Line - is a amethyst with a blue shift metallic. It disappointed me a little because I thought it would be more intense and on an even darker purple base. It looks nice, there are no problems with performance but didn't make such wow impression on me.
Solstice With The Mostest - is a metallic neon pink with a blue sheen, rich pigmented. I have the impression that some 8 years ago such shades could be found much more often in palettes/ duos/ trios than now. Something perfect for fans of true pink ❤
Poodle- is a vibrant true pink matte and I bought it last time, so it's from an older collection. I admit that on this year I used only a few times, but maybe because I did not have singles that would suit to him, but now I think that Come And Get It will correspond well with this type of pink.
Come And Get It - is a duochrome rose with a gold flip. This is one of the bestsellers and I am not surprised because it is the perfect shade for quick, daily makeup. Very reminds me of Reflective Elegance from the Rose Golden Zoeva palette. If you want to get a more subdued, delicate effect then it's best to apply it by your finger, but if you want to bring out all his duochrome effect then you need on wet or glitter primer.
Made To Last - is a neutral mauve matte. Universal and useful bronze, which probably if you love eyeshadows already have in your collection. For me is much more convenient to take the palette with singles for all kinds of trips / holidays and I just missed such matte brown. Great to work with, has a soft formula and good pigmentation.
Pretty Cruel - is a berry mauve with gold flecks matte. Blending this shade is just a dream, it doesn't really require effort and looks so beautiful and soft. Mega universal, matching to every make-up. It has gold particles but you can't see them at all.
Over It - is a metallic peach with a gold flip. This is one of my favorites. Lovely for quick, effortless makeup, gives such a freshness and glow. If you like shiny blush then can also be great for this purpose or as a highlighter for darker complexions. You can apply it by your finger or a brush depending on your preferences in both cases looks stunning.
Take The Lead - is a dusty medium grey matte. In real life it is definitely much more neutral bronze than on the picture. Looks awesome in combination with Glass Bull. I don't have any problems with this shade and I like it a lot.
Glass Bull - is a lavender icy-blue duochrome. It's the icing on the cake from this order. This shadow just does all the job. It reminds me of the popular Nabla Alchemy and costs much less.
Party Favors - is a vibrant duochrome peach with a gold flip. Of all these metallic is the least pigmented, if you want to get an intense color you need to apply it on wet. However, I expected it to be a little better.
Turntables - is a metallic orangey coral. This is not the most useful shade, but is spectacular. I have a lot of different palettes and singles in warm tones but with this type of bloody orange I met for the first time. It just looks stunning! Mega reminds me of a The Ram loose pigment from Zodiac collection with Kathleen Lights.

I am extremely happy with this purchase and I will be happy to buy more duochromes in the future because similar mattes can always be found in palettes. If I had to choose my favorites from among them, it would certainly be a Glass Bull and Turntables.
In my opinion they are the most unique and they doing all work. Definitely among the Colourpop singles you can find a lot of replacements for the much more expensive shades from many brands, so it's worth taking a closer look at them.

They really are, thanks sweetheart:**For you too!!
DeleteSoooo happy to see single shadows becoming popular again! I love having 1-2 big Z-palettes I can fill with EXACTLY my favorites. Zero waste. Buying palettes, there are less than 50% shadows I actually use. It's just so wasteful. If I have my own customized collection, it is MUCH easier to resist the "buy new release" temptation yet always feel satisfied. Have you seen the matrix system from Makeup Geek?
ReplyDeleteI always have the same problem with palettes, so I totally understand your point. Only annoys me that single shadows are often more expensive and unfortunately they don't produce by many brands :( Yes I saw, and what do you think? I saw a lot of reviews and some were very delighted and others compared them to older shadows and they quality was much worse hmmm :( That's why I don't know whether to buy or not, hehe: D
