A Creamy Pressed Pigment With A Foil Finish From Beauty Bay Review & Swatches + Dupe

New The Youtopia Pigment
New The Youtopia Pigment review and swatches

A few weeks ago I was making an order on Beauty Bay, and of course it could not lack cosmetics from their own brand. One of the things that I decided on was a single eyeshadow from the latest collection - The Youtopia to which review and swatches are cordially invited.

I love Beauty Bay's own brand from the first use because they represent a really nice quality, have fashionable colors, design and formulations but at the same time low prices. Their latest collection The Youtopia contains: an eight-shade pressed pigment palette, five-shade water activated liner palette, trio of shimmer lip glosses and four pressed pigments, of which I chose the shade Air. It is a blue/purple duochrome on brownish base. Costs £5 for 1.1 gr and you can get it only on the Beauty Bay website. The packaging is a classic plastic that looks quite cheap and is unlikely to be resistant to falls or other damage, so it is better to handle it carefully. It's quite slim and flat, which makes it easy to store and doesn't take up much space.

In terms of appearance and formulation, it mega resembles Super Shock from Colourpop, looking at the packaging this immediately comes to mind. It is a mega buttery eyeshadow, kind of like wet to the touch, with visible particles. The best to apply it by your finger of course, then it gives the most the duochrome effect that we all about, but with a brush it is also possible to achive. The particles don't transfer during the day on the rest of the face, so you don't need to use glitter glue. This is a really pretty shade that just does the job in your usual brown daytime makeup. Is it super unique and revealing? As for me, not because it is identical to the Top Shop Wax & Wane which has been withdrawn from sale some time ago, so it's nice that there is a 100% dupe available because rather more often this effect of purple particles duochrome is also on a purple base, which you can see in the post about Nabla Garden Gate dupes.

Sum up, if you are just looking for a duochrome, single, cream eyeshadow that will give you a bit of a colorful (purple) madness but still elegant then I recommend it. If I only will be remember, I will give you update in about 12 months and let you know whether it dries up like Supershock over time or behaves like a traditional eyeshadow.

I hope this post was interesting and helpful for you. Of course, let me know if you have already had any cosmetics from Beauty Bay and did you like the shade Air presented today?
