Maybelline Lifter Glosses Review & Swatches
Summer is over, however such a moisturized, slightly wet look is still very much in trend. When it comes to lips, the lip gloss is definitely the one that fits into it the most, the totally matte finish are a long time ago passe and I am very happy about it. So today I have reviews and swatches for the very popular Lifter Glosses by Maybelline.
When it comes to this new Maybelline Lifter Glosses, I have had my eye on it for a long time, but some of these restrictions and the price scared me away. They cost £8.95 for 5.4 ml so, in my opinion, a lot for a drugstore brand, but overall Maybelline prices have dramatically gone up. However, I found on Zalando offer 3 for 2, so it was a good time to give them a chance. They are available now in fifteen shades, from what I saw in the photos of swatches, not every color has the same sparkle intensity, so it is worth bearing this in mind before buying, some are more like liquid lipstick with pigment and other like a transparent lip gloss with shine.
I chose Moon and Topaz which are the more reflective ones. The packaging mega reminds me of the KKW vibe through that nude cap. It looks fashionable and elegant to me, the only thing that is quite large because of this rectangular thick plastic.
They have a non-sticky or non-gloopy formula as I know that makeup fans are often afraid of. They are very comfortable to wear and even when they start to disappear, they don't leave any white lines on the lips or for example just glitter particles, they are problem-free. They give the lips a healthy, fresh and juicy look.
When it comes to durability, a lot depends on the shade, because I have the impression that the Moon disappears quickly from my lips even without drinking or eating, while Topaz lasts for a good few hours. It was even the lip gloss that I chose for my sister's wedding make-up, which also proves how much I liked it. Btw, she was also very pleased: D
It has a gigantic size applicator in the form of a wand which is not my fave. It definitely takes on too much product and is not very precise. In the case of non-pigmented shades is not a problem, however with the more visible ones, it will not be very comfortable to use. Aadditionally what is worth mentioning, has nice vanilla scent.
Of course, one of the reasons why they are so popular is the comparison them to the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb. I have Rihanna's lip gloss in my collection so I could also compare them, which makes me very happy. As for the similarities, the shade of Topaz by Maybelline Lifter Glosses is practically identical to the Fenty Glow Gloss Bomb, however, this from drugstore has much less shimmering particles, which why automatically has a little less glow. This is not such a drastic difference, having both of them on your lips at the same time, I think no one will be able to say that we are wearing two different products. As for the formula, Fenty is a bit more noticeable on the lips and kind of heavier. It is possible that thanks to this, it is a bit more durable and last better after a light meal or kiss, but summing up both lip glosses are very similar to each other but not the same, however I prefer Fenty a little bit more.
To sum up, they are really great lip glosses that can easily compete with those of more expensive brands. In my opinion, Maybelline has improved its quality in recent years and the only thing that needs to be done better is the formula of the eyeshadows and the color stories of the palettes to make them more interesting for customer. If you have thought about buying and testing these lip glosses, I highly recommend.

Yes, Maybelline is supposed to be a drugstore brand, but the prices are quite high, so I'm always waiting for some promotions if I like something from their new products 😘😘 Which cosmetic/makeup brands do you use the most?
