Good, Ok And Bad From The Ordinary

Definitely The Ordinary is one of my recently favorite and budget skin care brands. I have tested quite a lot from them, so I found that maybe it would be useful to have a quick summary of what is worth buying and what is better to avoid.

Worth Buying

1) The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 

Review

This is my must have, which I mentioned already a million times, so I will not bore you. A great cosmetic for problematic, struggling with texture and acne skin.

2) The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Review

Again I will not surprise anyone because it's the favorite of many many people. For people who are not very advanced in acids, I would advise to be carefull how you using it and at the beginning only hold a few minutes, just once a week to build a tolerance. Thoroughly cleanses the skin and pores and helps in the fight against any lumps and imperfections.

3) The Ordinary Retinol 0.5 % in Squalane

This is a very nice option if you start your adventure with retinol. I decided to buy 0.5% but they are also have available 0.2%,1%, 2%, 5% so everyone can choose the perfect concentration for themselves. Thanks to the content of squalene, it doesn't badly drying out like can others which is undoubtedly a plus, but it has a very oily consistency which I am not a big fan of. The skin after the night is very shiny and greasy so may not be a cosmetic for everyone. With regular use, you can observe healthier looking skin, softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or uneven tone. If you are looking for budget retinol, it's worth keeping in mind.

Good

1) The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque

Review

This is definitely not a bad cosmetic, does what it has to do but you can just find similarly working masks on the market cheaper, so I can't recommend it with a clear conscience. I was happy with the effect it gives but it's nothing that special.

2)The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

I was hoping that it would be a kind of replacement for Pixi Glow Tonic but the concentration is too strong. After application you can feel a strong tickling, burning sensation especially if you have some healing imperfections or wounds. I used tonics with acids and just acids before but it's hardcorde hehe: D. It will be appropriate only for a narrow audience, they definitely should think about releasing other concentrations to choose from also for people with more sensitive skin. This is not a bad product, you can see the effects with regular use but too strong for me.

3) The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23%

Review

This cosmetic didn't work out for me because clogged my pores, but it seems that the fault lies more in some particular ingredient on which my skin respond not well than the cosmetic itself and maybe for someone else will work great. I didn't want to completely cross it out, that's why it went to the Good and not Bad category :)

Not Worth The Purchase

1) The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

Review

This is the only makeup product that I had and unfortunately sucks. Such a bad foundation is rare to find hehe. Mega poor lasting power, looks cakey, not good coverage, wipes off quickly etc. Maybe the serum option would be better than coverage but I don't want to even try :(. In addition after a few weeks his formula changed, it began to separate and looked strange, so it has only drawbacks for me; /

2) The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%

Unfortunately, I can't say much about how is working because after about 6 times of use I noticed that it oxidized (changed shade to orange) and stop being suitable for use. After these 6 times I didn't notice any effect. The price is kind of low but considering how short it will be last, it doesn't go that cheap anymore. Let me know if you had it and did it expire so quickly?

Each brand has better and worse cosmetics which for personal reasons and preferences becomes our must haves or not. The fact that two The Ordinary products didn't work well for me didn't somehow negatively affect on my opinion about them and I will certainly continue to shop their range and maybe in a while the second part will appear with a portion of next hits and shits.
